The Exabyte Neuroscience Center (ENC) is an exabyte-scale research institute built around a simple thesis: collecting the largest and most detailed dataset of what it means to be alive to accelerate AI-driven breakthroughs. We record the natural behaviour of animals living continuously in naturalistic environments using proprietary technology that exists nowhere else. And we process omics using state of art systems provided by our partners and members. All aimed at creating the new foundation models of organism-scale systems.
Traditional neuroscience constrains animals to artificial environments, producing stressed subjects and questionable data. ENI captures natural behavior at scale—continuous neural recording and 3D tracking in ethologically valid, open-field environments using proprietary wireless implants and automated pipelines developed in-house.
| Capability | What makes it unique |
|---|---|
| Proprietary Hardware | Wireless neural implants and multi-camera tracking built in-house—not available commercially. |
| Natural Behavior | 1m open-field arenas allow ethologically valid behavior impossible in traditional setups. |
| Continuous Capture | Automated 24/7 recording at TB/day—no other facility operates at this scale. |
The consortium grows more powerful with each member.
Our proprietary infrastructure generates naturalistic neural-behavioral data at volumes previously impossible. This is the dataset that will train the next generation of brain-AI models.
This technology and data pipeline exist only here. We are seeking founding members who want access to naturalistic neuroscience data at a scale no one else can provide.
